Tadawul extends early gains on Wednesday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The main index of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) added 0.02% or 1.14 points to 6,917.03 points at Wednesday’s close.

Traded value decreased to SAR 2.96 billion ($789 million) on Wednesday compared to SAR 3.7 billion ($987 million) on Tuesday, while traded volume fell to 188.5 million shares compared to 210 million.

The banks sector supported the stability of the market and rose 0.84%, backed by Al Rajhi Bank and Alawwal Bank which levelled up 1.11% and 8.8%, respectively.

The material sector went down 1.07% after SABIC lost 1.89% to SAR 94.50.

The telecom sector also inched down 0.25%, as the Saudi Telecom Co (STC) and Mobily slipped 0.16% to SAR 67 and 0.68% to SAR 20.55, respectively.

Yansab led the red zone and declined 4.31% to SAR 55.75.

Dar Al Arkan was the most active in terms of traded value and volume with 73.2 million shares exchanged at a value of SAR 472.63 million. The stock increased 4.6% to SAR 6.60.
