MSM ends Thursday in green; all sectors up

Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Thursday 0.28% or 15.26 points higher to 5,525.43 points.

The sectors rose collectively on the back of the market’s leading stocks as Phoenix Power, Bank Sohar, and Gulf Investment Services Holding gained 1.44%, 1.33%, and 0.95%, respectively.

The industry sector levelled up 0.47% after Oman Fisheries went up 2.88%, the services sector increased 0.41% as Al Jazeira Services grew 3.13%, and the financial sector edged up 0.04%, after Al Anwar Holdings rose 0.98%.

Turnover and traded volume rose on the MSM on Thursday to OMR 3.9 million as 18.86 million shares were exchanged, against OMR 3.57 million and 15.5 million shares on Wednesday.

Muscat Finance, which remained unchanged by the end of the session at OMR 0.117, registered the highest traded volume of 3.03 million shares, while Al Jazeera Steel Products led in terms of trading value with OMR 678,400.

By the end of the session, the shares of 36 companies were traded, of which 13 grew, 8 tumbled, and 15 shares remained stable.

Dhofar International Development and Investment led losers, falling 2%.
