Tadawul adds 29 pts at Thursday close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The main index of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) rose 0.42% or 28.71 points to 6,945.74 points at Thursday’s close.

Traded value decreased to SAR 3.56 billion ($949 million) on Thursday compared to SAR 2.96 billion ($789 million) on Wednesday, while traded volume increased to 235.1 million shares compared to 188.5 million.

The real estate investment trust (REIT) sector led the best performers and advanced 5%, backed by Aljazira REIT which hiked 6.64% to top gains.

The material sector added 0.69%, supported by SABIC which increased 1.36% to SAR 96.

The banks sector achieved the least gains and went up 0.26% after Al Rajhi Bank and the National Commercial Bank (NCB) levelled up 0.16% to SAR 63 and 0.91% to SAR 39, respectively.

The telecom sector led the red zone and shed 0.1%, on the back of Saudi Telecom Co (STC) which lost 0.71% to SAR 66.75.

Makkah Construction led the best 87 performers and advanced 4.74% to SAR 112.75, while Southern Province Cement topped the 73 losers and fell 2.2% to SAR 59.75.

SABIC was the most active in terms of traded value with SAR 466.27 million, while Alinma Bank was the most active in terms of traded volume with 22 million shares.
