Dubai - Mubasher: Paraguay has recently announced plans to open its first commercial representative office in the UAE later this year, according to a statement by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The office will be in Dubai, and will aim at boosting trade and investment between the two countries.

A delegation from the Dubai Chamber recently visited Paraguay as part of a mission to Latin America, where they met with the President of Paraguay, Horacio Cartes.

The president said that he would provide all the necessary facilities to help Emirati investors enter the Paraguayan market, noting that there is a common desire to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The chairman of Dubai Chamber, Majid Saif Al Ghurair, said that non-oil trade with Paraguay surged by 92% between 2010 and 2016, from AED 53.6 million to AED 102.8 million last year.

Paraguay ranks 153th in the list of Dubai’s economic partners, he added.
