Tadawul ends Sunday in red; Nomu gains 21.76 pts

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) saw a negative performance for the second successive session on Sunday.

Tadawul all share index (TASI) declined 0.43% or 29.39 points to reach 6,853.12 points.

However, the general index of the Nomu-Parallel Market rose 0.5% or 21.76 points to stand at 4,405.90 points.

The main market’s turnover amounted to SAR 2.43 billion ($647 million) on Sunday, compared to SAR 3.13 billion ($835 million) last Thursday. Trading volume reached 182.39 million shares, compared to 198.24 million shares.

In addition, the parallel market saw the exchange of 161,550 shares on Sunday, compared to 240,910 shares last Thursday. Turnover stood at SAR 2.68 million, compared to SAR 6.42 million.

The energy sector led losers with a 2.8% decline, followed by the energy and media at 2.7 and 1.9%, respectively.

The telecom sector fell 1.1%, while the banks and materials sectors retreated 0.36% and 0.04%, respectively.

On the flipside, the retailing sector led gainers after adding 0.9%.

Petro Rabigh led losers with a 10% decline, while Ash Sharqiyah Development was the best performer after rising 9.9%.

As for the parallel market, Baazeem Trading topped risers after gaining 3.1%. Meanwhile, Arab Sea Information Systems was the worst performer after falling 4.5%.

Arab Sea was also the most active stock after generating SAR 1.49 million from the exchange of 107,130 shares.
