Doha – Mubasher: Qatari non-oil exports amounted to QAR 4.94 billion in the first quarter of 2017, a report by Qatar Chamber stated on Monday, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Non-oil exports rose to QAR 1.83 billion in March 2017, compared to QAR 1.54 billion year-on-year, QNA added.

GCC countries imported 75% of Qatari non-oil exports at a value of QAR 1.37 billion, whereas the remaining exports were distributed over 58 other countries, QNA indicated.

Asia, with the exception of Arab-Asian countries, came in second place, as it imported 12% of non-oil exports from Qatar, the agency stated.

Qatar Chamber issued 5,874 certificates of origin in March 2017.

Saudi Arabia imported 40.65% of Qatar’s non-oil commodities in March, followed by the UAE with 31.6%, QNA concluded.

The increase in the number of countries importing from Qatar reflects the wide spread of Qatari commodities, with the exception of oil commodities, Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Qatar Chamber’s Director General, commented.
