EGX30 loses 0.85% at close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices fell collectively at Thursday’s close, amid sales by Egyptian and Arab traders.

The benchmark EGX30 index declined 0.85% or 111.64 points to the level of 12,952.38 points.

The EGX70, EGX100, and EGX50 indices fell 0.48%, 0.32%, and 1.03%, respectively.

The market capitalisation decreased EGP 3.2 billion to EGP 666.8 billion.

Trading volume reached 212.8 million shares exchanged at EGP 875.6 million through 23,700 transactions.

Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 28.5 million and EGP 4.3 million, respectively, while net purchases by foreign traders reached EGP 32.8 million.

Amer Group fell 6.06%, Porto shrank 6.06%, and Cairo Oils retreated 3.96%.

On the other hand, Eastern Company rose 2.01%, HADISOLB advanced 0.68%, and Orascom Construction ascended 3.96%.

The Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) dropped 0.94% to EGP 77.06.
