QSE slides 52.65 pts at Sunday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Sunday in the red zone, after losing 0.52% or 52.65 points reaching 10,050.7 points.

Most of the sectors fell, with the exception of the industrials sector which rose 0.24% as Industries Qatar and Qatar National Cement Company increased 1.18% and 0.70%, respectively.

The telecoms sector dropped 0.73% after Ooredoo decreased 0.94%.

The insurance sector declined 0.67%, while the banks sector went down 0.65% as Qatar National Bank (QNB) tumbled 1.5%, followed by the Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) with 1.44%, and Doha Bank with 1.27%.

The real estate sector levelled down 0.61% after Ezdan Holding Group, United Development Company, and Barwa Real Estate fell 0.64%, 0.63%, and 0.58%, respectively.

Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution led losers as it retreated 4.17%, whereas Qatari General Insurance and Reinsurance Company surged 6.41%.

Trading volume increased to 9.72 million shares on Sunday against 8.61 million shares on Thursday, while liquidity rose to QAR 183.19 million against QAR 174.55 million.

Qatar First Bank (QFB) led in terms of traded volume with 3.09 million shares exchanged, at a value of QAR 25.2 million.

Earlier on Sunday, the benchmark index decreased 0.34% to reach 10,068.7 points.
