Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd (Nakilat) assumed the management and operation of the Q-Flex liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Onaiza from Shell Trading and Shipping Company Ltd (SATSCO), according to a statement.

Onaiza, owned by Nakilat, has a capacity of 150 and 210 cubic metres and is chartered by Qatargas, the statement added.

Nakilat manages 15 ships, of which 11 are for LNG transport, and four ships for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

The company’s profits retreated 20.4% to QAR 191.06 million in the first quarter in 2017, compared to QAR 239.97 million in Q1-16.

The Qatar-listed company had previously reported a 2.9% decrease in its profits to reach QAR 954.18 million in 2016, compared to QAR 982.3 million in 2015.

Nakilat’s stock closed stable at QAR 19.03, after 64,740 shares were traded, at a value of QAR 1.23 million.
