Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi International Airport witnessed a 5.6% rise in received passengers in April 2017, exceeding 2 million, compared the same month in 2016, a report by the airport said.

The number of passengers reached 1.96 million in April 2016, the statement added.

On a monthly basis, flights from the UAE airport to India grew 1.9%.

Flights from and to Saudi Arabia surged 17.4% due to the Umra season, the statement pointed out.

The UK was the third most sought destination by passengers at the airport in April 2017, rising 12%, compared to the corresponding month in the year before.

Quarter-on-quarter the number of passengers grew slightly by 2.7% to 8.22 million, from 8 million.
