QSE surges 84.20 pts at Monday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Monday in the green zone after gaining 0.84% or 84.20 points to reach 10,134.90 points.

The consumer goods and services sector rose 1.19% as Zad Holding Company, Widam Food Company, and Qatar Fuel (Woqod) increased 6.61%, 2.3%, and 1.82%, respectively.

The industrials sector went up 1.14% after Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC) gained 2.82%, followed by Industries Qatar with 1.74%, and Gulf International Services with 0.17%.

The banks sector grew 1.01% as Qatar National Bank (QNB), Masraf Al Rayan, and Al Khalij Commercial Bank levelled up 1.71%, 1.61%, and 1.05%, respectively.

The telecoms and transportation sectors grew 0.56% and 0.43%, respectively.

Trading volume fell to 8.39 million shares on Monday against 9.72 million shares on Sunday, whereas liquidity rose to QAR 274.98 million from QAR 183.19 million.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of traded volume with 1.5 million shares exchanged, while Masraf Al Rayan’s stock was the most active in terms of liquidity at a value of QAR 65.8 million.

Earlier on Monday, the main index gained 0.19%, reaching 10,069.51 points.
