ADX suffers losses Monday amid higher liquidity

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Monday, dragged down by the decline of blue chips led by the telecom and energy sectors.

The general index declined 0.41% or 18.57 points to reach 4,551.79 points.

The telecom sector led losers after falling 0.57% as Etisalat sank 0.57%.

The energy sector sank 0.46% as TAQA levelled down 1.67%. The banks sector also decreased 0.36% after First Abu Dhabi Bank slid 0.45%.

The real estate sector levelled down 0.26% as Eshraq Properties retreated 0.93%.

Turnover amounted to AED 112.94 million on Monday, compared to AED 81.91 million on Sunday. Trading volume reached 48.45 million shares, compared to 63.81 million shares.

Etisalat was the value leader after generating AED 42.28 million, while Eshraq was the most active stock after trading 11.14 million shares.
