QSE slides 35.65 pts at Wednesday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday in the red zone, after losing 0.35% or 35.65 points to reach 10,087.35 points.

Most of the sectors dropped, with the exception of the transportation sector which closed semi-stable.

The telecoms sector shed 0.70% as Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo lost 1.45% and 0.57%, respectively.

The consumer goods and services sector declined 0.65% after Qatari German for Medical Devices decreased 1.5%.

Qatar Oman Investment Company led losers with 2.15%, whereas Qatar First Bank (QFB) was the best performer with 3%.

Traded volume rose to 8.11 million shares on Wednesday against 7.24 million shares on Tuesday, while liquidity increased to QAR 202.4 million from QAR 202.07 million.

QFB’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume with 2.21 million shares exchanged, while Barwa Real Estate led in terms of trading value with a turnover of QAR 37.6 million.

Earlier on Wednesday, the main index shed 0.20% to reach 10,103.01 points.
