Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) on Wednesday announced that it closed the world’s largest financing package for a solar power plant worth AED 3.2 billion ($872 million), Reuters reported.

The UAE authority previously noted that it had selected a joint alliance of Japan's Marubeni Corp and China's JinkoSolar Holding for building and operating the 1,177 MW plant.

ADWEA had raised $650 million in debt, in addition to equity worth $222 million to finance the project, Reuters added, citing director general of ADWEA Saif Saleh Al-Seiari as saying.
