Cairo – Mubasher: Telecom Egypt (TE) will sign an agreement with Etisalat Egypt on Thursday to provide 2G and 3G mobile services through the latter, Reuters reported, citing sources from TE and the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

The agreement is the same as the one TE signed with Orange Egypt before, Reuters added, citing a source.

The Egyptian government owns an 80% stake in TE, which offers Egypt’s only fixed line telephone services.

By 1:33 pm Cairo time, TE’s stock stood at EGP 10.37, after gaining 2.67%.
