QSE gains QAR 3.4bn in week
Liquidity surged 21.98% to reach QAR 1.25 billion, from QAR 1.02 billion in the week before.

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell 0.42% to reach 10,060.52 points in the week ended 25 May 2017, against 10,103.35 points in the previous week.

The market value rose 0.63% reaching QAR 540.86 billion ($148.39 billion) by the end of the week, compared to QAR 537.49 billion ($147.47 billion) in the week earlier, gaining QAR 3.37 billion.

Liquidity surged 21.98% to reach QAR 1.25 billion, from QAR 1.02 billion in the week before.

On a weekly basis, traded volume increased 7.21% reaching 47.48 million shares, against 44.29 million shares.

The number of transactions grew 13.06% to reach 14,740 this week, against 13,030 in the previous week.

The banks sector led in terms of trading value, acquiring 46.81% of the total value, followed by the real estate sector with 17.42%, the telecoms sector with 10.96%, and the industrials sector with 10.71%.

The banks sector also led in terms of traded volume, followed by real estate, telecoms, and industrials with 45.13%, 22.54%, 21.7%, and 4.1%, respectively.

Out of 44 companies, the stock prices of 16 companies rose, whereas 27 fell, and 1 company remained stable.

Earlier on Thursday, the benchmark index closed 0.27% down, reaching 10,060.52 points.
