Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government decided to cut diplomatic ties with Qatar and blocked its access to airspace and seaports, due to the latter’s insistence to support “terrorist” organisations, according to a statement.

All attempts to persuade Qatar to stop supporting such organisations have failed, according to the statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This specifically refers to the Muslim Brotherhood and Qatar harbouring the organisation’s leaders who were charged with conducting terrorist attacks targeting the safety of Egypt.

The statement attributed the measures taken against the country to Qatar promoting Al-Qaeda's ideology, supporting terrorist operations in Sinai, its insistence to interfere in the domestic affairs of Egypt and other Arab countries, threatening regional security, and strengthening the seeds of strife.
