Dubai - Mubasher: Emirati banks did not receive any instructions from the Central Bank of the UAE to halt dealings with Qatari banks, sources told Mubasher on Tuesday.

Sources added that banks still await clear commands by the central bank regarding the matter.

Earlier, Reuters reported that commercial banks in the UAE and Saudi Arabis started holding off on business with Qatari banks as a result of the current diplomatic tensions.

Sources expect a clear decision by the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates within the next few hours.

The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) has instructed Saudi banks not to deal with banks in Qatari riyals.

On Monday, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen, and Libya simultaneously decided to cut diplomatic ties with Qatar.
