Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Dana Gas on Sunday said it filed a pre-emptive lawsuit in the English High Court of Justice in London to protect its interests against any hostile action in connection with its Sukuk Al-Mudaraba sukukholder representatives.

The filing to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) comes as an update to the market on the results of the legal proceeding commenced in England in line with disclosure requirements.

Dana Gas, the Middle East’s largest regional independent natural gas company, said that the court has granted it “an injunction restraining the said representatives (Trustee, Delegate and Security Agents) from taking any such actions.”

The ADX-listed company has previously obtained similar injunctions in the UAE and British Virgin Islands (BVI) courts, it added.

Last week, Dana Gas said it was granted an additional injunction, on 13 June, from the commercial division of the BVI High Court of Justice, which prevents any enforcement action against the company’s BVI assets.

The injunctions protect Dana's position pending the outcome of the UAE court’s action to have its Sukuk Al-Mudaraba dated 8 May 2013 declared unlawful.
