Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The average prices of 16 building material groups saw a decline year-on-year in May 2017, according to a report released by the Statistics Center Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

The average price of the diesel group increased 23.1%, while the power cable and block groups rose 9.4% and 8.7%, respectively, compared with May 2016.

On the other hand, the average prices of the steel, wood, and natural stone groups decreased 10.6%, 9.5%, and 9.1%, respectively, in May 2017, compared to the same period in the previous year.

On a monthly basis, the average prices of the glass group levelled up 7.8%, followed by the paints group by 5.5%.

The waterproofing products group went up 3% in May compared to April 2017.

The average price of the natural stone group fell 5.4%, followed by the false ceiling and wires for apartment groups by 3.1% and 2.0%, respectively, month-on-month.
