QSE soars 252.71 pts at Thursday’s close
The telecoms sector rose 3.57% as Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo gained 5.16% and 3.26%

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday in the green zone after increasing 2.88% or 252.71 points to reach 9,030.44 points.

The telecoms sector rose 3.57% as Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo gained 5.16% and 3.26%, respectively.

The banks sector grew 3.11% and the industrials sector went up 3.27%, backed by Al Khalij Commercial Bank and Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) with 9.67% and 6.3%, respectively.

Trading volume dropped to 12.52 million shares on Thursday against 14.87 million shares on Wednesday, while liquidity declined to QAR 361.04 million from QAR 435.54 million.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume with 2.28 million shares exchanged, while Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock led in terms of traded value with a turnover of QAR 59.71 million, increasing 3%.

Earlier on Thursday, the main index rose 1.58% or 138.92 points, reaching 8,916.65 points.
