The stock prices of 13 companies out of 44 rose

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed 2.46% or 227.46 points lower to reach 9,030.44 points in the week ended Thursday, 22 June, against 9,257.9 points in the week earlier.

The QSE’s market capitalisation dropped 2.31% reaching QAR 489.09 billion ($132.95 billion), against QAR 500.65 billion ($136.56 billion) in the previous week, recording a market loss of QAR 11.57 billion.

Liquidity slid 21.19% to reach QAR 1.52 billion, against QAR 1.93 billion in the week before.

On a weekly basis, trading volume declined 32.26%, reaching 55.77 million shares against 82.32 million shares.

Transactions tumbled 17.02% to reach 17,840, against 21,490 in the week earlier.

The banks sector led in terms of traded value with 45.6%, followed by the industrials sector with 15.13%, the real estate sector with 14.07%, and the telecoms sector with 8.85%.

The banks sector was also the most active in terms of trading volume with 37.19%, followed by the real estate sector with 24%, the telecoms sector with 20.44%, and the industrials sector with 9.94%.

The stock prices of 13 companies out of 44 rose, whereas 30 levelled down, and one remained unchanged.

Earlier on Thursday, the benchmark index closed in the green zone after gaining 2.88% or 252.71 points, reaching 9,030.44 points.
