MSM down 2.5% in week
The main index closed at the level of 5,118.31 points

Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended the week with a 2.48% decline, losing 130.1 points compared to its levels at the end of last week, closing at 5,118.31 points.

The market capital decreased 1.11% to OMR 17.61 billion compared to OMR 17.81 billion in the week before, with losses of nearly OMR 197.2 million.

The main index was dragged down by the losses of the market sectors, led by the stocks of the industrial and financial indices.

The financial sector lost 2.62%, and similarly, the services and industrial sector went down by 2.21% and 0.06%.

Al Anwar Holdings led the decliners and dropped 21.46%, followed by Sembcorp with 7.83%, and Al Batinah Power with 6.67%.

On the other hand, Al Jazeera Steel Products was the top gainer adding 3.73%, while Oman National Engineering, and Oman United Insurance gained 3.28%, and 3.01%, respectively.

Traded volumes increased by 42.47% to 68.53 million shares last week compared to 48.1 million shares in the week before, while traded values grew 53.21% to OMR 14.8 million up from OMR 9.65 million last week.
