Cairo - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) - Egypt has removed the Qatari Riyal from its exchange rates screen, as shown by the bank’s website.

The QAR registered EGP 4.64 for selling and EGP 4.93 for buying in the bank’s trade on Tuesday.

Recently, six banks in the United Kingdom decided to stop dealing in the QAR, as the steep decrease in the Qatari currency continue and with the political rift between Doha and Arab countries still in place.

Other banks operating in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE have withdrawn their deposits from Qatari banks and have stopped trading on bonds and in Qatari riyal, amid fears of increased pressure from Gulf countries.

On 5 June, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, and the UAE, announced cutting diplomatic ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism.
