Sadara begins operations at new amines plant

Riyadh – Mubasher: Sadara Basic Services Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sadara Chemical Company, has announced starting production at its commercial amines plant on 16 July.

The new plant is one of 26 units located in the Sadara complex at the Jubail Industrial City II, the company said in a bourse filing.

“The amines plant is composed of two separate facilities, the ethanolamines plant and the ethyleneamines plant, which together will produce a broad range of products from detergents and personal care items,” Sadara Basic Services revealed.

The plant will produce industrial products such as: textiles, plastics, cement, wood, gas, rubber, oil, asphalt, and pharmaceuticals, Sadara said.

The financial impact of the new amines plant is expected to appear in Sadara Basic Services Company’s financial statements for the third quarter of 2017, the statement concluded.
