Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Monday 0.99% or 92.51 points higher to reach 9,436.08 points.

The real estate sector gained 2.2% as Ezdan Holding Group grew 2.95%, while the transportation sector increased 1.7% after Gulf Warehousing rose 4.7%.

The banks sector levelled up 1.2% as Al Khalij Commercial Bank and Qatar National Bank (QNB) went up 3.7% and 1.56%, respectively.

Trading volume grew to 7.4 million shares on Monday against 4.9 million shares on Sunday, while liquidity surged to QAR 1.4 billion from QAR 131.6 million.

Gulf International Services’ stock, up 2.49%, led in terms of traded volume with 2.01 million shares exchanged at a turnover of QAR 44.27 million.

Earlier on Monday, the QSE’s main index lost 0.20% or 18.35 points reaching 9,325.22 points.
