Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) on Wednesday announced the lifting of the ban on carrying electronic equipment on Saudi flights to the US effective Wednesday, 19 July.

The US Department of Transportation has informed GACA of lifting the ban, Saudi Airlines assistant director general for corporate communication Abdulrahman Altayeb confirmed.

The decision came after a team from the US Department of Transportation inspected the security procedures at Saudi airports and their accuracy, Altayeb concluded.

Earlier in July, the UAE’s Etihad Airways announced that the ban was lifted from its flights between Abu Dhabi and the US.
