Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday 0.42% or 39.92 points higher reaching 9,542.28 points.

The telecoms sector increased 2.05% as Ooredoo gained 2.78%, while the industrials sector went up 0.88% after Gulf International Services levelled up 3.47%.

On the other hand, the transportation sector declined 1.75% as Qatar Navigation (Milaha) tumbled 5.15%.

Trading volume rose to 11.46 million shares on Thursday against 10.5 million shares on Wednesday, whereas liquidity dropped to QAR 283.10 million from QAR 335.5 million.

Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd’s (Nakilat) stock remained stable at QAR 18.40 after 2.5 million shares exchanged, generating QAR 46.6 million.

Earlier on Thursday, the QSE’s main index gained 0.70% or 70.26 points to reach 9,572.01 points.
