Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) announced that the wholesale price index in the kingdom decreased by 1.7% in June 2017 year-on-year.

Month-on-month, the wholesale price index rose slightly 0.6% to 101.1 points from 100.5 points, GASTAT added.

The metals and materials group slid 9.9%, followed by the other commodities group with 3.9% of which main chemical materials group with 7.5% and furniture and other transportable goods with 5.3%.

The metal products and equipment group tumbled 2.3% and agriculture products and fishing group fell 0.9%.

The cost of living index, "inflation" in Saudi Arabia decreased by 0.4% in June 2017, compared to the same month in the year before, remaining negative for the sixth month in a row.

Month-on-month, Saudi Arabia’s inflation rose 0.7%.
