QSE rises for second consecutive week
The benchmark index added 72 points last week

Doha - Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) rose for the second week in a row, as the main index went up by 0.76%, gaining 72.35 points, and closing at the level of 9,542.28 points.

The market capital increased by 1.2% or QAR 6.31 billion, to a total of QAR 516.99 billion, compared to QAR 510.68 billion at the end of the week before.

Meanwhile, traded values decreased by 26.7% to QAR 1.1 billion, while volumes declined by 18.9% to 39.9 million shares.

The total number of transactions went down by 18.1% to 14,500 transactions down from 17,700 in the previous week.

Qatar National Bank (QNB) dominated 10.16% of last week’s trade, followed by Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) with 9.01%, and Vodafone Qatar with 8.22%.

In the week that ended on Thursday 20 July, 26 stocks went up, led by Gulf Warehousing, which surged 7.45%, while 17 others declined during last week led by Qatar Navigation with 7.46%.
