Egypt to issue debt instruments worth EGP152bn in August

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Finance (MoF) intends to issued debt instruments worth EGP 151.5 billion in the upcoming month, with an increase of 26.5% year-on-year, compared to EGP 119.73 billion in August 2016.

The ministry noted in its monthly plan, that it will issue treasury bills worth EGP 143 billion, while issued bounds will be worth EGP 8.5 billlion.

Treasury bills and bonds issued in July reached EGP 110.75 billion, compared to EGP 88.6 billion for the same month last year, with a growth of 25%.

The MoF aims at issuing debt instruments worth a record high of EGP 371 billion during the first quarter of fiscal year 2017/2018.
