ADFD finances AED 66m project in Guinea

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) announced that it will allocate AED 66 million to establish the National Dispatch Centre to distribute electricity in Guinea, according to a press release.

This project is part of an AED 330 million grant by the ADFD to Guinea to finance various projects, the statement added.

The project includes establishing the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) network, control of the management, planning, construction of the main building, and annexes to the control rooms and offices.

"Previously, ADFD contributed more than $20 million towards the construction of two power stations, Tombo I and Tombo II, in the Guinean capital Conakry. Both stations are now complete and produce about 60 megawatts of energy in total,” director general of the ADFD Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi stated, according to Trade Arabia.
