Mubasher: National Investments Co achieved a growth of 78.4% in profits during the second quarter of 2017 compared to the same period a year ago.

Earnings increased to KWD 1.17 million ($3.86 million) in Q2-17 from KWD 656,000 ($2.17 million) in Q2-16, according to a bourse statement issued on Monday.

During the first six months of 2017, the company’s profits surged 192.1% to KWD 5.17 million from KWD 1.77 million in the same period last year.

The rise in profits is attributed to higher realised earnings from investments available for sale, the statement added.
