Oman oil refineries production rise 12% in H1-17
Regular gasoline surged by 51% to 4.95 million barrels

Mubasher: Omani oil refineries and petroleum companies’ production grew by 12% during the first half of 2017 compared to the levels recorded during for the same period last year, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The statistics are based on the data of the Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic), and it showed that the products included the premium gasoline (M95), which production declined by 14% to hit 7.68 million barrels in H1-17.

The production of regular gasoline (91) reached 4.95 million barrels, rising by 51% year-on-year, whereas its sales amounted to 3.69 million barrels, increasing by 27%, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.

Meanwhile, gas oil or diesel production went up by 13% to 11.78 million barrels, while sales decreased to 8.14 barrels.

The Omani production of jet fuel rose by 22% to 2.8 million barrels, with sales increasing by 9% to hit 2.368 million barrels.

Similarly, Omani production of liquefied petroleum gas rose 74% and reached 2.24 million barrels, with sales growing by 6% to 1.15 million barrels.

Gasoline production dropped by 19% to reach 92,000 metric tons while Paraxylene production also declined by 22% to stand at 273,000 metric tons, according to ONA.

Polypropylene production reached 124,000 metric tons, comprising a rise by 219%, compared with 39,000 metric tons during the first half of 2016.

In H1-17, Oman exported 1.105 million barrels of regular petrol (M91), 3.55 million barrels of diesel, 490,000 barrels of jet fuel, and 1.118 million barrels of the liquefied oil petrol.
