Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MEWA) signed nine agreements exceeding SAR 186 million with domestic companies, institutions, and consulting offices, said minister Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhly.

The agreements include the Sokkia project, operating and maintaining remote control systems in water and wastewater utilities, linking 14 wells, added to other purification projects, the ministry added in a statement released Thursday.

The total value of the 36-month Sokkia project in Makkah exceeds SAR 29.5 million, while the operating and maintenance of remote control systems project, also spanning 36 months, amounts to SAR 30 million, MEWA said.

Meanwhile, the 14-well project has a duration of 24 months and is worth more than SAR 17 million.

The minister also signed a three-month SAR 876,000 deal for a project in Dammam and an SAR 18 million 36-month deal for engineering consultation services and the supervision of water and sewage projects in Riyadh.

The minister inked drinking water projects worth SAR 38.5 million in the Kingdom’s least populated area, the Northern Borders Region. The projects are scheduled for completion within 60 months, MEWA said.

Al-Fadhly has signed a 36-month, SAR 38 million project meant to deliver water to the residential and administrative city affiliated to the Saudi Ministry of Defense, the statement showed.

The minister signed two other deals worth SAR 521,000 and SAR 14 million, MEWA added.
