Riyadh – Mubasher: The value of Saudi exports tumbled 9.8% reaching SAR 688.42 billion in 2016, from SAR 763.31 billion in 2015, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) said.
The weight of exported goods rose 7.3% to reach 500.28 million tonnes in 2016, compared to 466.24 million in the year before, the GASTAT added.
China was the largest importer from KSA, as exports to China represented 11.6% of total exports in 2016.
Saudi Arabia exported goods worth SAR 79.92 billion in 2016, down 13.2% or SAR 12.15 billion from figures reported for 2015.
Mineral products topped the kingdom's exports of 2016 with 74.4%.
The value of Saudi exports of mineral products stood at SAR 512.22 billion in 2016, down 10.9% from figures reported for 2015.
