EGX falls for 6th straight session Tuesday
EGX closed Tuesday down to its lowest levels in three months since 24 May 2017

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices closed Tuesday down to its lowest level in three months or since 24 May 2017, pressured by Egyptian and Arab selling.

The benchmark EGX30 index declined, for the sixth straight day, by 0.25% or 32.71 points to the level of 13,102.39 points.

The EGX70 index slipped 2.28% to 689.65 points, its lowest level since February, while the EGX100 index shed 1.64% to 1,552.88 points.

The equally-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.66% at 2,059 points.

Traded volume reached 278.04 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 783.23 million through 26,440 transactions.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 4.5 billion and closed at EGP 696.9 billion.

Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 16.9 million and EGP 6 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 22.9 million.

Blue chips including Amer Group, Citadel Capital, and Pioneers Holding dropped 6.25%, 3.57%, and %3.5%, respectively.

On the other hand, Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals, Oriental Weavers, and Alexandria Mineral Oils (AMOC) went up 4.02%, 2.35%, and 1.43%, respectively.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) shed 0.29% to EGP 81.31.
