Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian ministry of transportation, represented by the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) have signed an agreement with the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) to establish a new electric train.
The train will connect the Egyptian capital with the new eastern suburbs, and will have 11 stations to serve a number of cities and areas, connecting Al Salam City with Obour, Sherouk, Al Mostakbal, Badr, El Robuiky, and the 10th of Ramadan, according to an official statements by the Egyptian Cabinet.
In its second phase, the train will reach the country’s New Administrative Capital, the statement noted.
Studies estimate that the train will carry around 350,000 passengers per day.
