Dubai - Mubasher: flydubai has reported losses of AED 142.5 million ($38.8 million) for the first half of 2017, according to a press release.
The company said in a statement on Monday that revenues increased to AED 2.5 billion ($689 million) during the six-month period.
Flydubai indicated that the number of travellers grew by 10.5% to 5.4 million during the same period, compared to H1-16.
The low-cost airline stressed that it has contributed 19.4% to the growth in Dubai airports flights compared to the year before, and by 12.4% to the total traffic.
The statement also noted that Flydubai faced comparatively higher fuel expenses in H1-17, with fuel costs accounting for 24.8% of operating costs compared to 23.5% for the corresponding period last year.
