Egypt starts negotiations to join BRICS association – PM

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s government on Saturday will start implementing what was agreed about in the meeting of BRICS association to start negotiations about joining it, the prime minister (PM) Sherif Ismail said.

Tarek Kabil, Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry will provide a detailed report about the agreements that took place between Egypt and the BRICS' nations, especially China, Ismail added.

Meetings will be held during the current week to implement which the Egyptian president Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi agreed about during the BRICS meeting.

The BRICS is an association consists of five countries named: China, Russia, Indian, Brazil, and South Africa, which contributes about 22% of the total gross world product, and has reserves which exceed $4 trillion.
