UAE investments in China reach $2.1bn 2016 – Ministry

Dubai – Mubasher: The Ministry of Economy of the UAE on Saturday said in a statement that the country’s investments in China amounted to $2.1 billion during 2016, and the non-oil trade value stood at $46 billion.

The sixth round of the mutual economic, commercial, and technical committee between the UAE and China has been finished in Beijing, the ministry’s statement added.

During the meetings the representatives of the two Asian countries discussed their plans to enhance trade and investments exchanges between them, focusing on sectors including energy, infrastructure, financial services, and tourism.

The GCC state and China agreed to increase cooperation in the energy and renewable energy fields.

The UAE’s Ministry of Economy and the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology signed during the sixth round of their joint committee a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and creativity.

A MoU of commercial remedies was signed between the Ministry of Economy of the UAE and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.

The last MoU was signed to cooperate in promoting events, exhibitions, and conferences that are held in the two countries.
