EGX indices rise early Monday; EGX30 passes 13,500 pts
EGX opened Monday’s trading session up

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session up, backed by foreign and Egyptian investors’ buying.

By 10:22 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index grew 0.53% or 71.37 points to the level of 13,526.56 points.

The EGX70 index gained 1.48% to 705.62 points, while the EGX100 index rose 1.09% to 1,591.08 points. The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.92% to 2,152 points.

Trading volume reached 43.29 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 117.4 million through 2,800 transactions.

Foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 4.8 million and EGP 258,800, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 5.11 million.

Blue chips including Amer Group, Orascom Telecom, and Iron and steel (HADISOLB) levelled up 5.88%, 2.86%, and 2.4%, respectively.

On the other hand, Egyptian Financial and Industrial (EFIC) was the only faller with 1.15%.

The heavy-weight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) added 0.28% to EGP 82.4, with a turnover of EGP 6 million.

The EGX is forecasted to carry on its bullish performance, in line with breaking above the level of 13,400 points, analysts told Mubasher earlier on Monday.
