Boursa Kuwait opened Sunday on mixed noted backed by banks sector

Kuwait – Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait opened Sunday’s trading session on a mixed noted, as the price index tumbled 0.22% or 15.3 points, while both the weighted and Kuwait-15 indices grew 0.42% and 0.69%, respectively.

By 9:33 am Kuwait time, the banks sector edged up 0.53%, on the back of Burgan Bank’s stock, which rose 1.9%.

On the other hand, the consumer services sector fell 1.03%, pressured by both Eyas for Higher and Technical Education (EYAS) and Oula Fuel Marketing, which dropped 4.11% and 0.8%, respectively.

The price index faces resistance at 6,922 and 6,942 points to break through an instantaneous level of 6,984 points to target 7,061 points, market analyst Nawwaf Al Aoun told Mubasher.

Al Aoun added that the index has support at 6,897 points, and is likely to reach 6,868 and 6,853 points, pointing out that seeing other levels at closing is a negative sign.

Kuwait and Middle East Financial Investment (KMEFIC) led the top gainers with a 5.58% rise, while Kuwait Financial Centre (MARKAZ) led losers with a 12.04% drop.

Trading volume reached 32.01 million shares exchanged through 1,005 transactions, achieving a liquidity of KWD 7.02 million.

At the level of liquidity, Mobile Telecommunications (ZAIN) levelled up 1.89% with a turnover of KWD 1.73 million, while Ahli United Bank - Kuwait (AUB) inched up 0.46% with a traded volume of 4.61 million shares.
