Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday rising 0.13% or 10.5 points to 8,289.23 points.
The rise in the general index was backed by the increase in turnover by 28.8% to QAR 241.09 million from QAR 187.16 million, and the hike in trading volume by 49.4% to 16.63 million shares from 11.13 million shares.
Five sectors rose, led by the transportation sector with 0.55%, on the back of Nakilat’s and Qatar Navigation’s stocks with 0.21% and 0.08%, respectively.
The industrial sector also went up 0.48%, backed by the hike in many sectors, led by Investment Holding with 4.4%.
The banks and financial services sector grew 0.24%, as six stocks rose, led by Qatar First Bank with 3.27%, and QNB with 0.11%.
On the other hand, the insurance and the real estate sectors slid by 2.43% and 0.81%, respectively.
Investment Holding achieved the highest trading activity in the market, with 4.82 million shares traded, generating QAR 35.8 million.
