Kuwait – Mubasher: Kuwait’s inflation went up 1.17% year-on-year during August 2017, figures issued by Central Statistics Bureau (CSB) revealed.

The level of inflation stood at 112.2 points during August 2017, compared to 110.9 points during August 2016, the Kuwaiti body added.

On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI), inflation remained unchanged at 112.2 points.

The month-on-month stability was attributed to the unchanged prices of the main sections.

On a monthly basis, the food and beverages, and clothing and footwear sections shed 0.19%, transport section lost 0.17%, and communication decreased 0.20%.

On the other hand, tobacco and narcotics, recreation and culture, and services and miscellaneous goods sections rose 0.18%, 0.79%, 0.29%, respectively.

Five sections remained stable namely, housing services, furnishing equipment household maintenance, education, and restaurant and hotels.

Year-on-year, transport section surged 15.38%, followed by education with 3.68%, whereas housing services section decreased 2.26%.
