UAE government nods to AED 1.2bn projects

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE President’s Follow-up Committee of the Initiatives has approved AED 1.2 billion ($327 million) in infrastructure and urban development projects across the country, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan doubles as the supreme commander of the UAE Armed forces and chairman of the Supreme Council and Supreme Petroleum Council.

The committee nodded its approval to the AED 865.9 million Shaikh Khalifa Central Hospital in Fujairah, which is set to house up to 300 beds and provide 24-hour services to patients. The hospital also includes a 32-bed emergency ward.

Other projects covering infrastructure and roads involved awarding a new AED 323 million road project that will link the Shaikh Khalifa Road from Maliha Road through Al Madam up to Al Shuwaib, the committee revealed.

The committee further approved several internal roads and parking lots in a number of residential areas in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Combined, the projects total AED 12.4 million.
