NBK Capital Partners exits investment in education sector
Study World represents the seventh successful realisation for NBK Capital Mezzanine Fund I

Mubasher: NBK Capital Partners has exited an investment in Study World Higher Education Services, which partnered with the Scottish Heriot Watt University to offer UK education at their Dubai branch campus.

Study World represents the seventh successful realisation for NBK Capital Mezzanine Fund I, which is considered the MENA region’s first credit fund providing mezzanine financing to growing middle market companies, according to an official statement.

The mezzanine investment has provided the necessary capital, accelerating the construction of new academic facilities as well as supporting Study World’s growth plan.

“This exit represents our 15th consecutive profitable exit across our platform since our inception in 2007,” senior managing director of NBK Capital Partners Yaser Moustafa said.

It is noteworthy that NBK Capital Mezzanine Fund I is worth $157 million, fully invested and focused on providing mezzanine financing to companies in the MENA region.

The mezzanine financing is a hybrid of debt and equity financing, primarily used to finance growth and expansion of companies.
