CIB deepens EGX30 losses Sunday; EGX70 up 1.16%
EGX closed Sunday on mixed note amid Arab, foreign buying

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s session on a mixed note amid Egyptian selling.

The benchmark EGX30 index fell 0.64% or 88.14 points to the level of 13,607.19 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) slipped 0.77% to EGP 81.6, with a turnover of EGP 23.4 million.

The small- and medium-sized enterprises EGX70 index levelled up 1.16% to 771.58 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.71% to 1,703.9 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.11% to 2,224.42 points.

Trading volume stood at 243 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 721 million through 27,300 transactions.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 733.3 billion, gaining EGP 884.2 million.

Blue chips including Eastern Company, Amer Group, and Orascom Telecom tumbled 9.72%, 2.86%, and 2.74%, respectively.

On the other hand, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt (ADIB), Arab Cotton Ginning, and Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima) rose 7.85%, 4.17%, and 2.56%, respectively.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 42.2 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 29.1 million and EGP 13.1 million, respectively.
