Local, Arab buying push EGX up early Monday
EGX opens Monday up amid Egyptian, Arab buying

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose early Monday, bolstered by Egyptian and Arab buying.

By: 10:33 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index inched up 0.21% or 28.75 points to the level of 13,635.94 points.

The EGX20 index added 0.26% to 773.54 points, while the EGX100 index levelled up 0.32% to 1,709.35 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.66% to 2,239 points.

Trading volume reached 34.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 127.9 million through 3,400 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 12.5 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 12.6 million and EGP 327,600, respectively.

Blue chips including Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt (ADIB), Elsewedy Electric Co, and Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima) gained 5.32%, 2.59%, and 2.15%, respectively.

On the other hand, Alexandria Mineral Oils Co (AMOC) and Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals (Sidpec) slipped 0.34% and 0.15%, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) grew 0.26% to EGP 81.9, with a turnover of EGP 6.2 million.
