Boursa Kuwait indices close Monday lower
The banks segment led eight decliners with 1.12%

Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Monday’s trading session in the red zone, for the third session in a row.

The price index lost 0.41% or 27.75 points to close at 6,767.52 points; the weighted index retreated 1.21% or 5.26 points to 428.97 points; and the Kuwait-15 index fell by 1.7% or 17 points to 991.64 points.

The banks segment led eight decliners with 1.12%, dragged by the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) which lost 2.56%.

Meanwhile, the oil and gas segment topped gainers with 1.15%, backed by Senergy which rose by 6.32%.

Arzan Financial Group led losers with 5.6%, while Marakez topped winners with a rise of 18.2%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover grew by 9.5% to KWD 28.73 million on Monday from KWD 26.25 million on Sunday, after the trading volume shrank by 11.5% to 111.82 million shares from 126.38 million.

The liquidity indicator registered a slight rise of 5%, and the purchase index has improved for a number of shares that suffer selling pressures, namely the leading stocks Zain and KFH, capital market analyst Talal Al Yussuf told Mubasher.

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) recorded the highest liquidity of KWD 5.78 million, while Gulf Bank of Kuwait (GBK) was the most active stock on which 10.56 million shares were exchanged.
